Adrologic Private Limited ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") operates the JatSetu mobile application and the website www.jatsetu.com (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal data when you use our Platform.

This policy is published in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 ("SPDI Rules"), and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDPA") of India.

By accessing or using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access or use the Platform.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Full name, mobile phone number, and profile photograph.
  • Matrimonial Profile Data:Date of birth, gender, caste, gotra (clan), sub-caste, education, occupation, income, height, weight, family details, photographs, marital status, and personal preferences. This data constitutes Sensitive Personal Data or Information ("SPDI") under Indian law.
  • User-Generated Content: News articles, advertisements, and other content you submit through the Platform.
  • Quiz and Activity Data: Quiz responses, scores, streaks, and leaderboard rankings.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device tokens for push notifications.
  • Usage Data: Reading history, content interactions, bookmarks, feature usage patterns, and session duration.
  • Location Data: Approximate location based on IP address or, with your permission, precise location data for location-relevant content delivery.
  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, access timestamps, referring URLs, and pages viewed.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • OTP Verification: We use MSG91 as our OTP delivery service provider. MSG91 processes your phone number solely for the purpose of delivering one-time passwords for authentication.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Account Management: To create and maintain your account, authenticate your identity via OTP, and provide customer support.
  • Service Delivery: To deliver news content, facilitate quiz participation, display leaderboards, and manage bookmarks and reading history.
  • Matrimonial Services: To display your matrimonial profile to other registered users, enable profile matching based on caste, gotra, and other stated preferences, and facilitate communication between interested parties.
  • Advertising: To display community advertisements, process ad submissions, and manage ad placement plans.
  • Push Notifications: To send breaking news alerts, quiz reminders, matrimonial match notifications, and other relevant updates via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
  • Content Personalization: To personalize your news feed based on reading history, category preferences, and language settings.
  • Analytics and Improvement: To analyse usage patterns, improve Platform features, and fix technical issues.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, including MSG91 (OTP delivery), Firebase/Google (push notifications and analytics), and cloud hosting providers. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Matrimonial Profiles: Your matrimonial profile information is visible to other registered users of the Platform who use the matrimonial feature. You may control the visibility of specific fields through your profile settings.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity.
  • With Your Consent: In any other circumstances where we have obtained your explicit consent.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security practices and procedures as mandated under the SPDI Rules, 2011. These include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL protocols.
  • Encryption of sensitive personal data at rest.
  • Access controls and role-based permissions for administrative access.
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Secure OTP-based authentication (no passwords stored).
  • JWT-based session management with token expiry and refresh mechanisms.

While we strive to protect your personal data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

6. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable Indian law, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access: You may request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and obtain a summary of your data and processing activities.
  • Right to Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You can update most of your information directly through the app settings.
  • Right to Erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data. Upon receiving a verified request, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent for data processing at any time by contacting us. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to the withdrawal.
  • Right to Grievance Redressal: You have the right to file a complaint with our Grievance Officer or, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
  • Right to Nominate: You may nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity, as provided under the DPDPA, 2023.

7. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete such data from our servers.

For users between the ages of 13 and 18, the Platform may be used only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The matrimonial feature is strictly restricted to users aged 18 and above.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for the following periods:

  • Account Data: For as long as your account is active, and for 90 days after account deletion to allow for recovery.
  • Matrimonial Profile: Until you delete your profile or deactivate the matrimonial feature.
  • Quiz and Activity Data:For the duration of your account's existence. Aggregated, anonymised data may be retained indefinitely for analytics.
  • User-Submitted Content:Published news articles and advertisements are retained as part of the Platform's content archive even after account deletion, unless you request their removal.
  • Log and Device Data: Retained for up to 12 months for security and analytical purposes.
  • Legal Obligations: We may retain data for longer periods where required by applicable law.

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The JatSetu website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience. The mobile application uses Firebase Analytics and FCM tokens for analytics and push notification delivery. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect the functionality of the website.

10. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services before providing your personal data.

11. Cross-Border Data Transfer

Your data may be stored on servers located outside India, including servers operated by our cloud hosting and analytics providers. Such transfers are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection laws and with appropriate safeguards in place. We ensure that any cross-border transfer of personal data is done only to jurisdictions and entities that provide an adequate level of data protection as required under the DPDPA, 2023.
